Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that for the time being, it is not possible to register in the ‘Surokkha’ app for taking booster dose of coronavirus. He said that registration can be done after December 28, but if anyone wants to take booster dose during this period can take it through the previous vaccination card. The minister made the remarks while inaugurating the vaccination program at the auditorium of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) at Mohakhali in Dhaka on Sunday (December 19). The health minister said the country has started giving booster doses from today. We are taking whatever preparations are needed to give a booster dose to the sixties. However, our preparations are not yet complete. We are updating the ‘Surokkha’ app to run this activity smoothly. According to the ICT Ministry, they will take some more time, they will not be able to update the app before December 28. So, this is not possible to register for booster dose through the app right now. But the booster dose program will continue. In response to a question, the health minister said, "We have given several types of vaccines." I have given these in accordance with the protocol of the World Health Organization (WHO). We will also give booster doses as per WHO protocol. At an early stage we will vaccinate Pfizer. The WHO says those who have received other vaccines will also be able to take the Pfizer vaccine as a booster. We've heard that Moderna can also be given as a booster dose. We also have Moderna vaccines in stock.
